Frequently Asked Questions

What is my favorite part of the planning process?

My favorite part is watching all the individual pieces come together into a seamless guest experience. I love the creative collaboration during design, but what truly excites me is the logistics behind the scenes that allow the client and their families to be fully present and enjoy the day without stress.

How many other weddings and events do I plan around the same time as another?

I intentionally limit the number of events I take on to ensure each client receives my full attention. I only book a select number of events per month and never double-book full-service occasions on the same weekend.

Based on my planning style, what roles fall under my services vs. the client’s responsibility?

My responsibilities: vendor sourcing, design, logistics, timelines, communication, contract review, layout, guest experience planning, rehearsal coordination, and full wedding day management. Client’s responsibilities: personal decisions (attire, guest list, vows), timely feedback/approvals, and making vendor payments.

In my opinion, what sets myself apart from other planners?

My approach blends design, logistics, hospitality and guest experience equally. I’m highly experienced and proactive behind the scenes while creating events that feel warm, personal, and effortless. Clients often tell me they feel completely taken care of because I anticipate needs before they arise and love my genuine hospitality. With 18+ years under my belt with knowledge and professional event industry relationships it comes in handy when or if an emergency or plan b needs to be put into action.

Can I share a timeline for major sourcing decisions & deadline commitments?

Throughout planning, you should follow a structured sourcing timeline to secure the most important vendors early and refine the design details as we get closer:
- 12–10 months: venue, photographer/videographer, overall design direction
- 10–8 months: catering, entertainment, rentals, florist - 8–6 months: hotel blocks, transportation, cake, lighting, attire
- 6–4 months: linens, tabletop, stationery, hair & makeup, timeline draft
- 4–2 months: menu lock, seating strategy, décor confirmations
- Final 30 days: final confirmations, payments, walkthrough, and detailed execution planning
- All deadlines and payment reminders can be tracked through planning documents or checklists so nothing is missed and you never feel overwhelmed.

How do I deal with challenges if clients are unhappy with a vendor or it doesn’t work out after a deposit is paid?

I can step in as the point of contact. I review the contract, communicate directly with the vendor on your behalf, and work toward a solution, replacement, or compromise. Because of my vendor relationships and experience, issues are often resolved smoothly. If a change is necessary, I help secure a replacement while protecting as much of your investment as possible.

Am I an open book with vendor invoices & quotes?

Absolutely. I operate with full transparency. You receive vendor quotes and invoices directly, and there are no hidden markups. My planning fee is separate from vendor costs.

Does my plan allow for non-caterer provided alcohol?

This depends on venue rules and local regulations. If permitted, I coordinate the logistics, insurance requirements, licensed bartending services, and quantities to ensure it is handled safely and properly.

Do I manage financial transactions with vendors?

You maintain direct payment relationships with vendors for transparency. I can track due dates, review invoices, and remind you of upcoming payments through the planning system.
